Categories

1Bottom bar

Full-width strip along the bottom. Familiar and out of the way of the content.

2Corner card

A floating card in the bottom-left corner. Noticeable without covering the page.

3Centered modal

Asks before anything else. Reject is one click away, so it's a choice, not a cookie wall.

4Floating pill

One compact line at the bottom centre. For sites that want the lightest touch.

5Choices up front

The categories are right there, all off. The most transparent design.

6Brand top bar

A strip in your brand colour across the top. Hard to miss, easy to dismiss.

questionsand short answers

What makes these banners compliant?
Reject all is one click and looks exactly like Accept all, every optional category starts off, nothing optional runs before a choice, and a cookie button stays on the page so visitors can change their mind. Those are the points regulators and the EDPB check first.
How do I stop my tracking scripts until consent?
Mark each tag type="text/plain" with data-category="analytics" or "marketing" (the Script blocker tool does this for you). The banner turns them into real scripts once the visitor accepts that category, and on every later visit.
Does it work with Google Consent Mode v2?
Yes. Add the defaults from the Consent Mode generator to your <head>; the banner calls updateGoogleConsent() with the visitor's choice whenever it exists.
Where is the choice stored?
In localStorage under consent_choice, with the date it was made. The banner asks again after 12 months. If a visitor withdraws a category, the page reloads so scripts that already ran stop.
Is a banner enough on its own?
No. You also need a cookie policy that names each cookie, its provider and duration, and the blocking above. Run a free scan to check what your site actually sets before and after the banner.
